This song describes the “λεβέντης”. He is the fearless man. He is the one who dares to risk and fight for justice; “του σκλάβου την τιμή φυλά” - “he is defending the honour of the slaves”. He is the one who fights and sacrifices himself for the others. He is the virtuous man. “Γελά και σιγοτραγουδά” - “he smiles and sings softly”. And he is doing all of this gladly, as his clean conscience is rewarding him. Eventually, a “λέβεντης” is the free man.
