I am convinced that I shall never forget the interests of my homeland. What benefit does this high favour have that the emperor honors me with, since I wouldn't be able to use it to help my compatriots, to whom I belong wholeheartedly and exclusively? God is my protector… and without this faith, I wouldn’t even be able to either understand myself or hope for anything.

Our relationship with God makes us free. Free from weaknesses, egoism, disunity, and selfish interests. When you are freed within yourself, you desire freedom around you as well. All those who struggled and sacrificed themselves had a deep faith in God.

γιατί έχει θηλάσει λευτεριά!»
“Here, throughout the centuries, nobody is born a slave, because he has nursed freedom!” Faith and love of God are those that give the milk of freedom. Whoever drinks this milk cannot bear to remain a slave within him- or herself. Let us also start this revolution within ourselves, by strengthening our relationship with God, as did our ancestors.
